- Open to all alternative band players aged 13 to 30 years old.
- Has no existing contract with any entertainment company/establishment or production outfit. Runners-up from previous years can still join the contest.
- A minimum purchase of P1,500 (single/accumulated cash/credit) from the Musical Instruments and Electronics Sections from May 30 to June 29, 2011 entitles a group to join the contest.
- Registration area is located at the Musical Instruments Section of Victoria Department Store.
- Filled-up registration form must be submitted together with a photocopy of the entire group members' valid ID, birth certificate, and the group's name/profile.
- Each group must consist of 5 to 8 members and must render their own choice of alternative song to be played during the contest proper.
- 2 groups per elimination will be selected to qualify for the Grand Finals.
- Eliminations will be on July 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2011. 10 groups will proceed to the grand showdown on August 27, 2011, 2 PM to 6 PM at Victoria Car Park beside Sen Ton Whan Restaurant.
- During the grand finals, finalists shall perform 1 alternative song and 1 original composition.
- All employees of Victoria Department Store and their relatives up to the second degree of affinity and consanguinity are not qualified to join the contest.
