Citibank Introduces the Ultimate Rewards Credit Card
Country’s leading credit card brand offers year round free movie passes,
generous shopping rebates and waived annual fees
with the new Citibank Rewards Card

Looking for the best rewards for your credit card spending?  Trust the country’s leading credit card brand to have the answer.

Citibank has launched a new credit card that features instant rewards available to cardholders throughout the year. The new Citibank Rewards Card is the latest addition to the successful portfolio of this industry leader, and is seen to set a new benchmark for loyalty programs in the market.

Three of its benefits that are expected to attract consumers include free movie passes, shopping rebates and annual fee waivers. Building on the latest technology, Citibank has also made redemption of these rewards extremely convenient for cardholders – no more vouchers, charge slips or forms to fill out.  Just present your credit card at their partner merchants and claim your treat.

According to Citi Country Officer for the Philippines Sanjiv Vohra: “Citibank has been a pioneer in the rewards arena since we issued our first plastic,  and we are all excited to be raising the bar anew in the industry with this new card – for the benefit of the Filipino consumer.”

Consumer Business Manager Sergio Zanatti reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to anticipating the needs of consumers and driving innovation for the banking industry.   “We remain focused on providing best in class financial products and services to our clients, and are confident that this new addition will be popular with the public,” said Consumer Business Manager for Citibank Philippines Sergio Zanatti.

The Citibank Rewards Card is seen to appeal to young professionals, providing them best values for their shopping and recreational activities.

As the ultimate rewards card for regular movie-goers and frequent shoppers, the new card offers a free P100 movie pass for a minimum single-receipt purchase of P2,500 anywhere.  This means that online and international transactions are qualified to earn movie passes.

It is also easy to redeem the movie passes. Cardmembers do not need to collect and present charge slips. When they swipe the card at our participating cinemas, they can see how many movie passes they can redeem. The P100 movie passes are credited to their accounts three business days after the purchase and are valid for 30 days

Up to two movie passes can be redeemed per day in Cash & Carry Cinema, Eastwood Cinemas, Festival Cinema, Greenhills Promenade, Greenhills Theatre Mall, Robinsons Movieworld, SM Cinema and Walter Mart Cinemas.

“Reward yourself by doing what you like best. This is what the Citibank Rewards Card is all about. You don’t have to wait for promotions anymore because we have packed all these features into the card and made them available year round,” shared Bea Tan, Credit Payment Products Director of Citibank in the Philippines.

Cardholders are also entitled to generous 5% rebates when shopping at Aldo, Aldo Accessories, Celio, Charles & Keith, Giordano, Marks & Spencer, Nike Park, Pedro, Runnr, Toby’s, Topshop, Topman, Urban Athletics and Zara. Earn as much as P1,000 rebates per month or P12,000 a year.

Cardholders also receive rebates at all department stores – as much as 3% at The Landmark Department Store, Metro Department Store, Rustan’s Department Store and SM Department Store and 1% rebate for all other department stores. Cardmembers can use the rebates in denomination of P100 to pay for their next purchase at the participating merchants and these do not expire.

The new card also waives annual fees for principal cardholders who spend at least P20,000 per month, or P240,000 within their year of membership. In addition, their first three supplementary cardmembers are free when they each make purchases at least six times every membership year.

“It’s shaping up to be another milestone year for Citibank in the Philippines and we will be sharing more positive news to our loyal clients and to the public in a few months.  We want to thank our customers for continuing to support Citibank, and are optimistic that they will find our new card to be truly rewarding,” said Zanatti.
